Sarah Thomas
Yoga and Meditation
365 Yoga Dream
Meet Sarah Thomas, a lifelong yogi whose journey started in the womb through her mother’s prenatal yoga. Guided by her mother, she developed a deep passion for yoga and meditation then further honed her skills and transitioned from a student to a teacher in Little Rock. As a Lululemon legacy ambassador, she forges community connections, aligning with their mission. Certified in health and wellness coaching from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, she supports those facing health challenges.
“Remember, it’s important to also consider seeking guidance from certified instructors,
exploring different yoga styles, and using props for support and flexibility
as mentioned for a well-rounded yoga experience.”
WHO WE ARE
Approach to treatment plans:
• My belief is that health and wellness is more than just healthy eating and exercise. My approach is to recognize these dimensions – emotional, mental, environmental, physical, social and spiritual health – as factors that impact overall health and well-being.
Health/Wellness Tips:
To maximize the benefits of yoga, follow these 10 guidelines:
- Regular Practice: Consistency is key. Establish a routine that suits your schedule.
- Proper Alignment: Ensure correct form to prevent injuries and maximize the benefits of each pose.
- Breathing: Mindful breathing reduces stress and enhances your yoga experience.
- Start Slow: Beginners should begin with gentle classes and avoid overexertion.
- Balanced Diet: Combine yoga with a healthy diet for overall wellness.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink water before and after your practice to stay hydrated.
- Listen to Your Body: Modify or skip poses that feel uncomfortable or painful.
- Rest and Recovery: Allow your body to recuperate with rest days and restorative yoga.
- Meditation: Incorporate meditation for stress reduction and mental clarity.
- Stay Consistent: Be patient and persistent in your practice.
The biggest misconception about my field:
• Yoga and meditation, often misunderstood as purely physical flexibility and mind-emptying, actually promote holistic well-being and diverse mental focus.
