Put on your dancing shoes, Little Rock.
Ever since Juanita’s closed its doors last December after 30 years of fiestas, the city has been wondering what would move in to the prime River Market spot, and now we know: Little Rock Salsa.
According to our sister publication Arkansas Business, Sarah and Jorge Gutierrez plan to open the new private club by December, focusing on Latin dances like salsa, meringue and cha-cha. Guests can expect the doors to open every Friday and for special events, along with food and drink (liquor licenses are currently in the works).
“It will be Arkansas’ first dedicated site for ballroom dancing and salsa and other Latin types of dancing,” Sarah Gutierrez told Arkansas Business.
Though the space is new, Little Rock Salsa has been around for years — partnering with various venues and restaurants that served as host sites — before securing the old Juanita’s location at 614 President Clinton Ave.
We can feel the heat already.
