Attention soccer fans! While not as popular as say, American football, we know there is a fierce group of loyal and local World Cup fans out there. (We’ve seen you on Twitter.) This roundup is for you.
The FIFA World Cup got underway June 12 with host country Brazil taking on Croatia. Brazil has the most first-place finishes out of any country, winning five out of the 19 total World Cups. The 2010 World Cup’s winner was Spain, who defeated the Netherlands in South Africa.
The United States represented the stars and stripes Monday (June 16) against Ghana, winning 2-1. At 5 p.m. Sunday (June 22), the Americans will take on Portugal.

KUAR will host a viewing party for the Sunday (June 22) game against Portugal from 4-7:30 p.m at Vino’s Brew Pub, 923 W. 7th St., Little Rock. They will offer half-priced food and happy hour drinks. The first 50 people there will get a free slice of pizza.
After playing Portugal, the team will take on Germany at 10 a.m. June 26. The rest of the schedule will depend on the results.
