Family medicine & Obstetrics – Dr. Ijanae Holman-Allgood, Baptist Health Comprehensive Women’s Clinic
Dr. Ijanae Holman-Allgood is a full-spectrum family medicine physician. She takes care of all ages, birth to death; as well as provides full-spectrum prenatal care. She can see someone prior to having children for their chronic medical issues (e.g, diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases), then see them when they get pregnant and deliver the baby. Likewise, she can then follow up with care for the mother and child.
Why are you passionate about maternal health care in Arkansas, and what are your goals?
Women in the U.S. are dying from preventable pregnancy and postpartum causes, and the statistics in Arkansas are particularly staggering. My goal is to change the narrative around maternal health by increasing access to care, giving a voice to those who feel unheard and educating the next generation to help close the maternal health care gap.
How often should patients be seen?
If the patient has no chronic medical issues, I should see them at least once a year for their wellness.
