WOMEN TO WATCH

Whitney Miller

Owner
THE LABEL

I have known since I was a little girl playing the “This and That Store” in my room and trying to sell my toys and my mom’s home goods to my friends that I wanted to have my own business one day! Today, I am the proud owner of THE LABEL men’s clothing store. Also, I’m happy to announce I have recently moved the store into Pleasant Ridge Town Center. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for THE LABEL and me!

PRESSING QUESTIONS

What have been the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career and how did you overcome them?

Being a woman in the men’s fashion industry. It’s been hard for some to take me seriously, but I just keep dressing up, showing up, and proving that I can casually dress the best-dressed men in Little Rock.

Favorite part of living in Little Rock?

Getting to see my family more! I moved back to Arkansas for that reason. I love my family and I missed getting to see them whenever I wanted. Family is the most precious thing there is!

How do you define success?

Success to me is defined by how you feel about yourself and your accomplishments, not by what others see. Liking who you are, what you do, and how you do it — that is success.

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Have as much fun as you can and don’t stress about the future. Work hard, play hard and love hard and just let life happen! You got this!

I wish I knew how to _______.

Play the guitar! I have been singing since I was a little girl, and I love music. I learned to play piano when I was young but never took the time to learn how to play the guitar.

Who is your role model?

I have so many amazing influences in my life. My mom, for all her love and showing me how to be a strong woman and a loving mother. My brother, for his fierce work ethic and his generous heart.

Best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t take any wooden nickels!

Best moment of your career so far?

t was getting to see my father’s face when he finally got to see my store before it opened, and then hearing him say, “You did it Pooh Bear!”
