PARTY WITH A HEART, INC.

Party with a Heart Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to raise awareness, education, and support for causes within our community by bringing women together at fun, simple, and unique events. I started this organization from my desire to bring awareness to smaller Arkansas-based nonprofits doing important work in our community. Many don’t have the necessary resources to pull off a huge fundraising event, but they need financial support just the same. Our goal is to level the playing field a bit for these organizations.

PRESSING QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A TYPICAL WORKDAY LIKE?

I have a lot of flexibility because I own my schedule. That means I don’t have a typical day. I may be grocery shopping in between meetings on Tuesday afternoon or sending tax receipts out at midnight on Saturday.

MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB:

Party with a Heart’s entire mission is focused on raising awareness for another nonprofit organization. When we have created buzz about our nonprofit partner or we’ve successfully pulled off a great girls’ night out event, it’s mission accomplished for me.

FAVORITE PART OF LIVING IN LITTLE ROCK:

The generosity of the people who live here. It’s an amazing place to start a business because of everyone’s willingness to connect you to the resources to make it happen. We have a lot of great resources in central Arkansas.

ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 18-YEAR-OLD SELF:

Go on a wild adventure to the other side of the world and be gone for at least six months. You are a lot braver than you think you are. Trust your instincts. Love yourself and know you are enough.

IF YOU COULD LUNCH WITH ANY WOMAN, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHAT WOULD YOU ORDER?

Right now I would choose Ellen Degeneres. She inspires me to be myself and to always dance! I love how she uses her platform to encourage kindness. We’d have baby back ribs (or is she vegan?).

HOW DID YOU KNOW THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO?

I never set out to start a nonprofit. My greatest thrill is to see an idea grow into something real. Party with a Heart is one of those ideas that’s growing. It’s all that I’m passionate about in one mission.

BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED:

Don’t go to law school unless you know you want to practice law. Go to business school instead and learn how a business operates. Then you can do anything you dream of because you can start it on your own.

I WISH I KNEW HOW TO:

Speak several languages. When we travel to other countries, my greatest wish is that I could sit and have a conversation with the people who live there. I wish I could learn their language on the plane ride over.
