I was blessed to have had someone take a chance on me years ago in HR. I worked relentlessly to prove hiring me was the right choice and now I currently oversee HR strategy for G4S Secure Solutions Arkansas & Southern Missouri. G4S is the world’s largest security company operating in more than 115 countries, providing a range of security services. I’m also a motivational speaker and owner/operator of ReD Group Consulting, a full HR compliance service specializing in creating healthy work relationships with employees.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
Human resources is the heart of an organization. We provide life to organizations by nurturing and cultivating its employees. It is my duty and pleasure to empower, motivate and encourage employees to understand and utilize their abilities to grow.
I wish someone told me at the start of my career
Human resources is not for nice people. It's for individuals with tough skin who can empathize with people and situations. We can't always communicate news and feedback nicely, but it can be delivered with empathy.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
That skill of emotional resilience was one I had to develop quickly. With the deadlines, contracts, recruiting and different situations that come with HR, I had to learn to manage these and "roll with the punches" without having lasting difficulties.
Best career moment so far
I saw a young man who used to work for us. He gave me a hug and told me he has now finished his AA degree and is a police officer because we gave him a chance in security.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
Take a deep breath, push away from my desk, take a brain break and understand the task will be there when I make it back.
How I knew this was my passion
I didn’t. I only knew I wanted to make money growing up, but God had other plans. He opened a door for me to use my talents and abilities to help both individuals and corporate expansion see their growth potential.
