I joined Small Wealth Management 16 years ago as a receptionist and worked my way to financial advisor, earning my licenses within my first year and spending a decade as lead paraplanner before transitioning to advisor in 2021. I hold my CFP®, BFA, APMA and CRPC designations and specialize in building personalized financial plans rooted in long-term client relationships.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
What I learned from my first job
The importance of accountability and professionalism. Being new to the workforce taught me mistakes can happen in any role, and how you respond to them matters.
How I knew this was my passion
I originally planned to study psychology. I’ve always been drawn to understanding what motivates people and helping them work through life’s big decisions. Financial planning turned out to be exactly that.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
Reflect on my approach, break the problem into smaller steps and refocus on what’s within my control.
Biggest challenges in my career
Transitioning from paraplanner to advisor after 11 years in a support role. Earning client trust in my own name, not just as an extension of someone else’s relationship, took time and intention.
Best advice I ever received
Leave things better than you found them, including people.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day
Human connection is what makes this work matter. I can’t properly manage someone’s finances without knowing their life — the goals, the kids’ soccer games, all of it.
Nonprofit I wish more people knew about
Ronald McDonald House. They do amazing work for families in some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Psychology. Understanding why people make financial decisions is just as important as knowing what they should do. My BFA designation confirmed what I'd suspected for years.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health
Go for a walk with a friend, a podcast or a good book. (Usually during soccer practice!)
Best career moment so far
Every time I hear a client talk about long‑term goals we’ve worked on together and seeing those plans come to life. And earning my CFP designation.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
We genuinely want to know your life, not just your portfolio. The more we understand what matters to you, the better we can actually help.
