As an optometric physician, I practice primary care optometry including prescribing glasses and fitting contact lenses, the treatment of various ocular diseases like glaucoma and the co-management of cataract and refractive surgeries. Although I enjoy seeing patients of all ages, my passion is for pediatric eye care and vision therapy.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion
I became passionate about optometry during my high school internship at Simmons Eye Care. I realized I could make an impact in my community and work in a profession where I could develop strong patient relationships.
Best career moment so far
Seeing my pediatric patients improve after getting their first pair of glasses or completing their vision therapy program.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Time management is key. I want my patients to feel like they have received a high-quality and thorough eye exam. I strive to give their vision the level of care and attention it deserves while seeing them in a timely manner.
What makes Little Rock feel like home
The local and family-owned businesses that are the heart of our city.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
The eyes are the “window to the body” and can be an indicator of your overall health. An optometrist can find signs of diabetes, hypertension, inflammatory conditions and even metastatic cancer during a routine eye exam.
Biggest challenges in my career
Optometry is a legislative profession. The biggest challenge I face is not being able to provide patient care at the highest level of my degree and training due to the current legislative battle in our state.
I wish someone told me at the start of my career
You will never make everyone happy, but as long as you know you are doing your very best, you can be happy with the care you provide your patients.
