Natalie Hairston

Commercial Loan Officer & Vice President
Bank of the Ozarks

I began my banking career 17 years ago as a teller and have enjoyed helping customers reach their financial goals since. Today I have my dream job as a commercial loan officer with the amazing lending team at Bank of the Ozarks. I feel very fortunate to work with this strong team of lenders and am thankful because I know I have become a better lender by working with them.

Most rewarding part of my job:

I love helping others meet their financial goals. It is a dream to help my customers finance the next step in making their business successful. Being a part of that process is why I enjoy what I do.

How I knew this was my passion:

My mom says that I have wanted to be in banking since I was about five years old. I would make her come to my office and fill out bank paperwork to withdraw fake paper money.

If I could lunch with any woman, it would be:

Mary Harriman, the founder of the Junior League Association. She was ahead of her time in thinking debutantes had a higher purpose than social teas and dances. Her passion to make an important contribution to her community is very inspiring.

Best advice I ever received:

Don’t give up what you want most for what you want now. Patience is hard sometimes, but this advice has helped me to always remember that working hard and being patient will be worth it once you realize your dream.

How I define success:

The same as Maya Angelou: “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.”

I wish I knew how to:

Build things. I would love to be able to see something on Pinterest and then know how to use all the power tools to make it.

Favorite part of living in Little Rock:

I love the variety of activities available in Little Rock. In one weekend you can climb a mountain, watch a Broadway show and go to the Arkansas Arts Center.

Advice for my 18-year-old self:

Always set your goals high, meet them and then set higher goals. Continue working toward what you want even when roadblocks come. Enjoy and learn from the ups and downs through life.
