I founded Waverly Wood after more than a decade in wedding photography, choosing to redirect my creative focus toward home design and thoughtful gifting. My business offers a carefully curated selection of home goods, gifts and wedding registry that reflect refined style, Southern charm, and intentional living.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
It’s a fun, but massive undertaking. Community support and repeat customers mean everything. For small business owners, shopping small makes a real difference and helps us continue serving our community.
What I learned from my first job
Ironically, my first job was in a gift shop where I learned to warmly engage customers and mastered the art of creating beautifully wrapped gifts.
How I knew this was my passion
Inspiration drawn from the women in my family, whose talents in design and hospitality influenced me early on, paired with my love of gifting, naturally led me down this path.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
The ability to juggle multiple roles at once — buyer, merchandiser, accountant and problem-solver — all in a single day.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
Remembering it’s all about people, the reason I do what I do. Re-centering on that helps me refocus and know how to move forward.
Best advice I ever received
Buy what I love, because that's what I'll be able to sell. So far it's worked out well!
What keeps me coming back to my job every day
I’m excited to come in every day because of the people. Relationships make it worth it, and I love seeing new customers return because they had a great experience.
Nonprofit I wish more people knew about
Project Zero. They are dear friends of mine and are doing incredible work in our state by promoting adoption and connecting families with waiting kids.
Best career moment so far
Learning we won Platinum Service Awards from Soirée Recommends in wedding registry was a highlight.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health
Stepping away from the store when I can, getting fresh air and giving myself space from the constant pace of work.
Biggest challenges in my career
A defining challenge was managing incoming inventory without a physical location while the retail space was under construction. I processed a full store’s worth of inventory from home.
