PRESSING QUESTIONS
What keeps me coming back to my job every day
I get a real feeling of purpose and excitement playing matchmaker for my clients and their future home. Also knowing that this career is a perfect fit for my strengths and that there are people counting on me to show up and give them my all.
How I knew this was my passion
I actually have my master's in education and was a teacher for a few years, but I knew in the end it wasn't the best fit for me. I love helping people and use my background as an educator to help clients through every step of the process and to fully explain the next steps. I have a passion for home design and connecting with people. The dynamic nature of real estate drew me in because every day is a unique challenge. It's a career that allows me to connect many of my different passions in an exciting and rewarding way.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
If you find an agent you love, stick with them for all of your future real estate needs. They'll be your best advocate and loyal friend to help make your real estate dreams a reality.
Biggest challenges in my career
Balancing my work with my home life and family. I love being a mother, but I also get so excited when my client finds their dream home and it requires a lot of my time and focus. I work hard to be fully present, whichever mode I'm in, so my family and my clients get the best version of me when I'm with them.
My first job and what it taught me
Growing up, I did competitive dance and taught classes at the studio. That job taught me discipline, hard work and talent are all required to succeed.
A nonprofit I wish more people knew about
Women and Children First
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Understanding general construction and how a house is actually built to give my clients honest input on potential home renovation and improvement ideas.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health
Working in my garden
Best advice I ever received
Do what makes you happy and it will make the people around you happy. You cannot pour from an empty cup.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
Clear and concise communication is key to keep the process of buying or selling smooth. When communication is not constant and clear, things can fall apart. I spend my mornings talking to a wide range of people that have to be updated every day. Making sure the client, other realtor and their client, title company, loan officer, inspector, appraiser and often a contractor are all on the same page.
