WOMEN TO WATCH

LYNN LUPLOW-KERFOOT

OWNER/STYLIST
SALON L

I began my career at Joel’s Salon. After 21 years of working as a hairstylist I took a leap of faith and opened a small boutique salon in the Heights. As my phenomenal team grew, it was apparent that I needed to expand. In November 2015 Salon L’s new location opened in Pleasant Ridge Town Center. Our technical prowess is matched only by our remarkable customer service.

PRESSING QUESTIONS

BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR:

Working along side Joel was very rewarding, but opening my own boutique and then expanding have truly been the highlights of my career. Every day has great moments.

HOW DID YOU KNOW THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO?

When I was 14 year old I decided I would cut and style all my girlfriends’ hair and do their makeup for special occasions. From that day forward I knew in my heart I had found my calling.

MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB:

Forming lasting relationships with my guests and making them look as good on the outside as they feel on the inside. Making this endeavor more rewarding is having the constant and steadfast support from my husband, Keith. He keeps me sane and is the best there is. Also, getting to work with charities that are close to my heart such as Ronald McDonald House Wellness Space.

HOW YOU DEFINE SUCCESS:

The point in your life when you’re not merely just living but thriving defines success for me.

I WISH I KNEW HOW TO:

do backflips on a trampoline.

IF YOU COULD LUNCH WITH ANY WOMAN, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHAT WOULD YOU ORDER?

I would dine with the legendary Audrey Hepburn, the epitome of style and grace, sharing a southern meal of cornbread, turnip greens and sipping on prosecco.

ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 18-YEAR OLD SELF:

Be kinder to yourself.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?

My mom, Kay, for her great work ethic, putting other’s needs before her own and being a wonderful wife and mother. All the things I strive to be myself.
