WOMEN TO WATCH

Kara Wright

Owner
The Shot Clinic

The Shot Clinic is a team of highly trained medical staff providing services to prevent disease and improve quality of life. There’s no appointment necessary and no office charges. We have a great team of specialists that provide everything from back-to-school and travel vaccinations, to wellness shots, flu shots, biometric health screens and more. Also, for groups of 10 or more, we can visit your facility to administer vaccinations or other services. I’m proud to be able to provide Little Rock with a unique service that the community was lacking.

PRESSING QUESTIONS

How did you know this is what you wanted to do?

I really didn’t! I was driving down Poplar Avenue in Memphis and saw a company similar to my company. I came back, did some research, put my own spin on it and opened The Shot Clinic.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Being able to offer a service that was needed here in Little Rock, and helping people.

Who is your role model?

My parents — they always taught me that life is not about fame and fortune, it’s about what you do to help others.

Best advice you’ve ever received?

As long as you can wake up and look yourself in the mirror every day, you are doing things right.

Favorite part of living in Little Rock?

Little Rock is like living in a big city, but it has a small-town feel.

If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and what would you order?

My grandmother. She passed away a few years ago and was an amazing woman! I would have to say Terri Lynn’s beef brisket ‘cause that is what we always ate together.

What is a typical workday like for you?

Every day is different. Some days I’m in the clinic, but we also travel to local and out-of-town businesses for their employees. I love staying busy, though — it keeps me on my toes.

How do you define success?

It’s about making an impact, not only an income!
