Since starting my career in 2013 I have worked in marketing for several industries including corporate retail, health care, agriculture and now renewable energy. In late 2020, I accepted the director of marketing and sales position for Stone Creek Solar. Now my daily duty is to educate about the power of solar energy and help expand Arkansas’ rapidly growing renewable energy industry. I also own Rosemary Way Creative, a fine art and graphic design studio for commissioned artwork and freelance graphic design.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion:
Working for a global agriculture finance institution, I spent time on farms around the country learning how farmers grow food and fiber for the world sustainably. I was inspired by the farmers that valued innovation in renewable energy practices.
Biggest challenges in my career:
The COVID-19 pandemic. Marketers like to say "you have to spend money to make money" but when the pandemic hit and income slowed, marketing seemed to be where money was cut first.
My first job and what it taught me:
Freshly 16, my first job was as a receptionist at Sport Clips. I learned so much about responsibility and answering to a boss at a young age. I've worked nearly every day since that first day at Sport Clips.
Nonprofit I wish more people knew about:
The Arkansas Foodbank. Arkansas is second in the nation for food insecurity. There are so many children, families and seniors that don't know where they will get their next meal. We have to do better, Arkansas.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day:
Since I was 4 years old, I have been competing. Whether it was a dance competition or Miss Arkansas, I have always had a drive in me to succeed. I think this drive keeps me going in my career today.
Best career moment so far:
To be named among the other 2021 Women to Watch is an honor I highly regard. It makes me feel validated and really proud to be recognized for working hard.
A skill I never expected to need in this field:
Some days, I go from a board meeting in high heels to a muddy farm in a hard hat to my paint-covered clothes in my art studio all in one day! Being versatile and flexible is key.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health:
When the pandemic lockdown hit I decided to fill my time with things I enjoy but never had time to do. I picked up a paint brush for the first time since college and then Rosemary Way Creative was born.
Best advice I ever received:
If you want something done you've got to do it yourself. Thanks, mom.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field:
Though the energy industry is predominantly male, there is plenty of room for female leaders. Growing up I never thought about a career in energy because I never saw women in those roles (cue the shattering glass).
