I graduated from a small liberal arts college in Minnesota, having no idea that just 10 years later my passion and career would meet in the city of Little Rock. Best advice I ever received
Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Celebrate the small wins and always eat the cake.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
First, pray, and second, remind myself of three things I'm thankful for.
My first job taught me
I was a waitress at a diner in college. I learned I am much better at making genuine conversation than just taking an order. This is when I discovered I needed a career that delivered on establishing trust and meeting people where they're at.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Grit and tenacity. The answer isn't always in front of us when driving the sale or understanding our customer. But when we lean in and push-through, the reward pays off.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health
Truth be told, I often have to block out "me time," but when I do, it's in between the pages of a good book or taking it out on the bike.
