I am honored to serve as the operations manager for Heifer USA. The Heifer USA team works with farmers here in Arkansas and in surrounding states to help them achieve a living income through farming. We are based at Heifer Ranch in Perryville where we host farmer training as well as educational programs that help create globally minded citizens. I have worked for Heifer International for six years and I am so grateful for each day that I get to work with such an amazing group of people.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion:
When I was 13, I heard a missionary talk about his work in Africa and it changed my life forever. Since that day I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to making the world a better place.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field:
Nonprofits are making a positive impact on our community and our world, but we can’t do it alone. If we all pitch in, we can have a greater impact. I encourage you to get involved in giving back.
Best advice I've ever received:
Always be a student and continue to take each opportunity available to learn and never stop.
Biggest challenges in my career:
It is hard to accept that sometimes you don’t have the resources to do all the work you need to do. The silver lining is that it encourages creative thinking and problem-solving.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day:
Farmers give so much to us through the healthy food they produce and how they care for our environment. Each day I want to do everything I can to give back to them.
A nonprofit I wish more people knew about:
I wish more people knew that Heifer works in the U.S. Heifer USA is making a difference in the lives of farmers in our state through farmer training and support of Grass Roots Farmers’ Cooperative and New South Produce Cooperative.
What makes Little Rock feel like home:
The friends I have made since moving here make Little Rock feel like home to me. I am lucky to be surrounded by the kindest, most passionate and thoughtful friends anyone could ask for.
Best career moment so far:
When I got the call that I was selected for my current role I was speechless. For years I hoped to get the chance to work on one of our country program teams. This job is a dream come true!
