Upon completing my pediatric dental residency, I worked as a provider in several offices. After a few years, I realized not everyone shares the same passion for community health. In order to accomplish this, I had to open an office that fostered a culture based on patient needs. Arkansas Pediatric Dentistry opened in 2013 and strives to maintain a mountain-top view receptive to new technologies and emerging techniques to ensure our clients receive the best possible care at all times.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
What keeps me coming back to my job every day
Providing an essential service to my community and knowing that I have an opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s health and self-esteem.
Best advice I ever received
Talk less, listen more. I have found this to be most effective in life. Becoming an engaged listener allows me to focus on what’s important to the speaker. This is very beneficial in the dentist/patient relationship.
I wish someone told me at the start of my career
In the spirit of entrepreneurship, opening a business requires funding. Develop a network with your colleagues early on and share information about which financial institutions are receptive to your demographic.
Best career moment so far
In my field, I encounter children who arrive at my office in pain. When I treat and manage the problem, I see a burden lifted off the parent and the child’s tears are replaced with a smile.
What makes Little Rock feel like home
I was born in Little Rock, attended public schools here and forged some life-long friendships. I have very deep family and community ties, which I cherish as a source of comfort.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
Most people are unaware there is additional training that comes with the pediatric dental title. We complete a residency program that ensures our ability to focus on the specific and unique issues children encounter throughout development.
