I am a partner at Gill Ragon Owen, P.A., a full-service law firm that provides valued counsel to a wide variety of industries. I joined GRO after graduating from law school 10 years ago. Since then, I have developed an active litigation practice with a focus on corporate contract disputes, consumer litigation defense and labor and employment litigation. I represent clients nationally in both state and federal courts and counsel clients daily on a variety of legal issues affecting their businesses.
PRESSING QUESTIONS
Best career moment so far:
Making partner at age 31 was certainly a big accomplishment for me, personally. Briefing a case up to the Supreme Court of Arkansas and obtaining a favorable ruling for our client was also a rewarding moment.
Best advice I've ever received:
Both of my parents encouraged me to be independent and self-sufficient. Getting to that place in life before “settling down” has made me better and stronger personally and professionally.
Biggest challenges in my career:
Disconnecting from work and maintaining a healthy work-life balance is an ongoing challenge. The demands, expectations and stakes are high, so stepping away from work and giving my full attention to other things can be difficult.
I wish I knew how to:
Dance like Beyoncé, but I’d settle for knowing how to play tennis. It’s a sport for all ages and I like the social aspect of the local tennis leagues.
A nonprofit I wish more people knew about:
Miracle League of Arkansas is an organization that makes it possible for kids with disabilities to play a team sport, something a lot of us take for granted.
How I knew this was my passion:
I have always enjoyed writing and been an analytical thinker, two traits that tie in nicely with litigation. Drafting legal arguments is one of the things I love most about my practice.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day:
Being dependable and accountable to clients and co-workers. We are always moving the ball forward.
What makes Little Rock feel like home:
Little Rock has a small town sense of community but also a lot to offer in terms of arts, culture, food and entertainment. It has been exciting to witness the revitalization of SoMa and development of the East Village.
