WOMEN TO WATCH

Brittany Marsh, Pharm.D.

Cornerstone Compounding Pharmacy

I began at Cornerstone Pharmacy when I started pharmacy school in 2008. Upon graduating, I worked as a pharmacist for four years until buying that location. We specialize in compounding, hormone consultations, veterinary medications, skincare and anti-aging, GI medications and more. We offer immunizations and have been working overtime to aid in pandemic relief.

While working within the compounding field, I helped develop a cosmetic skincare business. Miller-Marsh Cosmetics is a medical-grade line that is locally made and revolutionary for the skin.

PRESSING QUESTIONS

Biggest challenges in my career

Balancing home and work serves as a challenge for anyone in the workforce. I love work and also know that raising my babies and being a wife are the most important roles I carry.

My first job and what it taught me

My first job was at Allstate Insurance with my dad. It taught me that I wanted to be in a field where I could be around people. I loved visiting with customers and learning about their lives.

Nonprofit I wish more people knew about

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Best career moment so far

Definitely my best career moment so far has been the ability to aid in beating the pandemic. We have been able to join the ranks of independent pharmacies across Arkansas to vaccinate the masses.

What keeps me coming back to my job every day

My incredible employees keep me coming back every day. We are truly a family and they keep me motivated on a daily basis. Enjoying your co-workers keeps the work environment enjoyable!

Best advice I ever received

Stay in your own lane and always do what's right. You have to be able to look yourself in the mirror every day, so always strive to do what's right and keep your focus on your own lane.

The one thing I wish people knew about my field

The field of pharmacy is moving towards an appointment-based model in some areas. At my pharmacy, we currently take appointments for consultations, testing and vaccinations and hope that this model will further the continuity of care across medical professionals.

One practice I use to maintain my mental health

Exercise! I try to exercise three to five times weekly. It is a great mental break which allows me to focus better at work and at home.

The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall

When I need a course-correct I try to identify the problem, work to reform it, set goals and see those goals through. Goal-setting is one of my favorite tactics of business and growth.

How I knew this was my passion

I feel so passionately about my job when I am challenged on a daily basis. I love learning and seeking new ways to grow the business and succeed, and I enjoy setting goals and seeing them through.
