I work as a litigator at Rose Law Firm, the oldest law firm west of the Mississippi River. I am celebrating my 10-year anniversary this year during our firm’s 200th anniversary. My practice is primarily focused on handling commercial litigation, including fiduciary litigation and creditors’ rights disputes, and family law. After clerking with RLF in law school, I knew I belonged here. I was impressed by our members’ commitment to continuing the legacy of quality work and service created by the legal giants who passed through our halls.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion
In my prior career as a reporter, I often attended court and was intrigued by the lawyers' intellectual gymnastics. I tend to overthink everything and felt this would be beneficial in litigation. This is what I was meant to do.
I wish someone told me at the start of my career
That no one knows anything when they finish law school. The practice of law is all about the actual practice. You will need to over prepare and under promise to overcome this deficit until you have some years under your belt.
Best advice I ever received
“There is no victory, no advantage, no fee, no favor which is even worth a blemish on your reputation for intellect and integrity.” Wise advice by former member Vincent Foster that I try to take to heart each day.
Biggest challenges in my career
The biggest challenge is turning off at the end of the day. It is difficult when you frequently find yourself standing in the shower at 10:30 p.m. contemplating the best way to characterize the holding of an important case.
