I am the owner of BEIGE, a closet-like boutique located downtown. We offer a curated collection of contemporary clothing and accessories. We opened our physical location close to a year ago and a few months later we expanded to e-commerce. PRESSING QUESTIONS
IF YOU COULD LUNCH WITH ANY WOMAN, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHAT WOULD YOU ORDER?
I would have brunch with Iris Apfel. She completely contradicts my less is more motto, but I find her very interesting. She reminds me of my late grandmother.
ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 18-YEAR-OLD SELF:
Focus on yourself. It is easy to get wrapped up in what other people are doing. I gained a lot of confidence when I started caring less about what other people thought and started doing what was best for myself.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES OR OBSTACLES YOU’VE FACED IN YOUR CAREER:
I was a stay-at-home mom with both of my kids until they started school. The transition from being a stay-at-home mom to a working mom was challenging at first, but we have finally found our balance.
HOW YOU DEFINE SUCCESS:
For me success is loving myself, loving what I do, fulfilling my family’s needs and being able to give back to my community.
BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR:
The grand opening of BEIGE. So much energy, time and preparation went into opening the store. It was very rewarding to see it all come to together and to be able to share that moment with my family and friends.
BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED:
My father-in-law told me that if you love what you do, you will be successful.
I WISH I KNEW HOW TO:
Draw. I just didn't get that gift. I always wished that I was better at drawing and painting.
MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB:
I have had the chance to work with some really creative and talented people. Also, the group of girls that work at the store are amazing. I really hit the employee jackpot!
