My professions came from a fascination with homes and functions they play in our lives combined with a strong desire for business ownership. In 2005, investigating needs in central Arkansas construction led me to the idea for Stone Works LLC. My husband and brother shared my passion, so we built this retail and distribution masonry product company. We also provide commercial and residential installation solutions through our contracting division. The joy of seeing families actualize their homeownership dreams led to my Realtor license in 2009.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion
My natural dreamer and visionary mindset produce an endless string of ideas for business solutions. The level of energy and obsession I exhibited toward creating Stone Works made it obvious this was a passion I didn’t need to give up.
Nonprofit I wish more people knew about
The Gaines House is a transitional living residence for homeless women with mental, physical or behavioral health disabilities. The Wolfe Street Foundation provides recovery groups, education and community outreach for anyone affected by addiction.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Emotions run high in business. The ability to carefully navigate is essential. A lot of time is spent advising others and interacting in complex professional landscapes.
Biggest challenges in my career
Self. When I get out of the way and allow God to work through me, positive challenges and fruitfulness generally occur. When I allow self-doubt, fears and insecurities to enter the picture, challenging growth opportunities can prove uncomfortable.
I wish someone told me at the start of my career
It doesn’t matter because I wouldn’t have listened. Someone probably did tell me anything I wish I'd known. Hardheadedness kept me from hearing. Personal experience seems to be the only thing I trust.
Best advice I ever received
Think through actions, reactions and behaviors, then stick with those that create value for the desired outcome. Abandon energy-wasting activities that aren't useful. Shut Up. Pray. Do the next right thing. Laugh often.
