As a partner in Rose Law Firm’s litigation practice, I focus primarily on commercial litigation, including appellate advocacy, antitrust, banking, class action and probate and trust litigation. I became interested in joining the firm during my lawyering skills class in 2002 when Rick Donovan, a Rose Law Firm partner, was my instructor. He offered me a job, a chance and later became my litigation mentor. I am forever grateful that he and the firm provided me the opportunity to become part of Rose Law Firm’s rich history and exciting future.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion:
I didn’t. I began college pre-med, only to come out the other side as pre-law. I only realized it was my passion after my first trial, which was an adrenaline rush. After that, I was hooked.
Biggest challenges in my career:
To do this job and do it well, I’ve learned to lean on my support system and ask for help from my family and colleagues when I need it.
Advice for my 18-year-old self:
What matters at 18 will not matter at 40.
A nonprofit I wish more people knew about:
Center for Arkansas Legal Services, which provides access to legal services for those in our community who would not otherwise have it.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day:
The people. The Rose Law Firm attorneys and staff are family to me. When you spend more waking hours with your colleagues than you do with your family, you'd better love your colleagues.
Best career moment so far:
As a young partner in 2011, I successfully argued my first case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. I’m not batting a thousand, but my appellate record is pretty good.
I wish I knew how to:
Well, not really, since my husband is a fabulous cook.
What makes Little Rock feel like home:
Conway is my family home, but Little Rock is my work home. As a member of the commuter club since 2001, I use this time to make work calls or talk to my mother, which I do every day.
