I followed in my father’s footsteps and became a pharmacist. He owned a wonderful pharmacy in Prescott, where I grew up. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with a degree in chemistry, I decided to go to pharmacy school. I am the Compounding Pharmacist at Cornerstone. Our mission is to provide exceptional patient care and premier customer service.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
With our expert drug knowledge, we advise and collaborate with physicians and practitioners. Compounding provides very patient-specific, individualized solutions for patients and pets that might not otherwise be available.
Biggest challenges in my career
As a mom of four, re-entering the workforce as a pharmacist after not working for 16 years was intimidating. I am thankful I challenged myself and conquered my fear.
Nonprofit I wish more people knew about
As a new Camp Aldersgate board member, I am always interested in nonprofits supporting people with disabilities. My sister is intellectually disabled and lives with me.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
I never imagined I could be so specialized in my practice. I have taken many hours of classes to become an expert in compounding and a certified hormone specialist.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day
My co-workers who make me laugh and inspire me every single day, and the challenges our patients face allow me to partner with providers in finding solutions for our patients.
Best career moment so far
Other than getting to work with my father before his passing, providing over 20,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to Arkansans during the pandemic was one of the most rewarding experiences.
Best advice I ever received
Always tell the truth, be kind to everyone because you don't know what they may be going through, and always treat other people the way you want to be treated.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health
Daily morning quiet time of prayer and meditation early in the morning after my sister is picked up by bus at 6 a.m., and spending quality time with family and friends.
