At Anchor Strategies, I manage relationships, coordinate strategy and help keep initiatives moving at the Capitol for our clients. I discovered my passion through a college internship and have been drawn to this fast-paced, relationship-driven work ever since.
Of course it’s politics, but that’s the surface. The real work is relationships, trust and timing, and what happens behind the scenes is what actually drives outcomes.
Managing constant change and high expectations. I remind myself it’s business, not personal, especially when navigating tough decisions with people I respect. Staying adaptable is essential.
Silence. Knowing when to say nothing and let a moment play out has been more powerful than I ever expected.
During a college internship, it clicked. I saw how decisions impact everyday life, and when everything around me revolved around politics, I couldn’t get enough. I wanted more.
Relationships are everything. Protect them. That mindset has shaped how I build trust, communicate and approach every opportunity.
Babysitting triplets taught me patience fast. I called my mom 30 minutes in for help and learned it’s OK to ask for help when you need it.
Listening to music. It helps me reset and clear my mind. No matter the moment, I find clarity in it and sometimes catch myself speaking in lyrics.
I pick up the phone. A quick conversation almost always brings clarity, and in my field, the right insight usually comes from the right person.
