I’ve worked with employers in the health and benefits industry for going on 15 years. I joined CoreSource two years ago, and I am responsible for managing our self-funded clients located in Arkansas and across the southwest. My job is to provide our clients with comprehensive solutions for every aspect of their benefit plans, from risk management to education strategies. While CoreSource is one of the nation’s largest independent employee benefit administrators, I’m proud we’ve kept the local presence, personalized service and strong client relationships typically associated with a smaller organization.

Best career moment so far:

I had the opportunity to travel to Washington to meet with our congressional representatives and discuss the financial and administrative impact of health care reform on Arkansas employers. I was humbled by their willingness to listen and learn.

If you could lunch with any woman, who would it be?

Any new mother who has just learned of her child’s special needs diagnosis. I’d tell her that although her plans have changed, she’ll find strength she had no idea she possessed, and that she will have joy in abundance.

Most rewarding part of your job:

Creating solutions tailored to each individual client, and not being limited to a predefined “one-size-fits-all” approach. I truly enjoy helping business owners and employers build customized plans that fit their financial goals, company culture and workforce.

I wish I knew how to:

Fit more in a day. I have two wonderful little girls who would really love it if I could squeeze in a few more spontaneous dance parties!

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Every day, do something that gets you outside of yourself. There is a whole world outside of your bubble that will change how you think in ways you can’t yet imagine.

Best advice you’ve ever received:

To trust my intuition. If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

Favorite part of living in Little Rock:

Little Rock has so many different faces. There are wonderful venues for the arts, beautiful hiking trails, opportunities for economic growth and development. We have many of the benefits of a large city with the warmth of a small town.

How you define success:

I agree with Maya Angelou: “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.”
