Throughout history, women have had to earn the rights that were given freely to their peers, and we have to say, our lady predecessors laid some serious groundwork. In the wake of a truly historic presidential election, in which the first female vice president of the U.S. was elected, three central Arkansas women are perpetuating the movement.
Adora Curry, Amy Counce and Calli Turner founded Women Gather with a common goal: to establish a safe space for women to connect, have authentic conversations and learn from one another. Let’s face it, establishing friendships as an adult is tricky at best. Women Gather aims to eliminate that barrier, which can be even greater between women, who are so often programmed to compete with one another.
The vision of the organization is to develop and encourage women around the state by cultivating conversations where everyone has a seat at the table.

“We want women to feel equipped through our raw, honest virtual series,” the co-founders said, adding that every woman is powerful in her purpose. “We want women to feel engaged when we gather around a table together to listen to women leaders share their stories. We want women to feel empowered in their homes, communities and careers.”
Members will gather in three spaces: Gather Virtual, Gather Table and Gather Retreat. The first Gather Table event takes place this spring, but Gather Virtual is in full swing on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m.
To join the community, head to the Women Gather private Facebook group and take the membership pledge: to use the spaces for the purpose of uplifting, encouraging and empowering yourself and other women.
