Terri Erwin was honored as Woman of the Year at the annual Women & Children First Woman of the Year Gala which raised $380,000, a new record. The event began with a cocktail reception at The Peabody, followed by a dinner of Filet Oscar, a beef medallion topped with lump crabmeat and a béarnaise sauce, accompanied by roasted asparagus and tri-color roasted potatoes. Dessert was a creamy lemon raspberry tart. Craig O’Neill was master of ceremonies, and Vanessa Williams delivered a moving address that included a poem she wrote as a survivor of domestic violence. Ashley Nabholz awarded the Peacekeepers Award to Allegra Printing. Event chair Susan Reynolds presented the Woman of the Year Award, along with honorary chair Cindy Murphy. The Atlanta Showstoppers provided the evening’s entertainment. Presenting sponsors of the gala included Bank of the Ozarks, Erwin & Company, Harriet and Warren Stephens, Barbara Tyson, The Tyson Family Foundation and Tyson Foods, Inc.
