The Historic Arkansas Museum Foundation supports the museum’s mission to communicate the early history of Arkansas and its creative legacy by preserving, interpreting and presenting stories and objects for the education and enjoyment of the community and visitors.
Each item in the museum’s collection of Arkansas Made tells a story about Arkansas — about our hopes, our fears, what we valued, how we lived, who we honored, where we placed our roots and why. When we save these objects, we save a piece of us.
All proceeds from the Candlelight Gala, hosted by the foundation, purchase Arkansas-made fine and decorative art for the museum’s permanent collection. The gala is only one fundraising program of the foundation. Others include museum membership, the Historic Partners program and planned giving.
How We Are Funded
The Candlelight Gala is just one of the ways to support the museum’s foundation. The generosity of individual donors, businesses, museum members, Historic Partners, government and foundation grants, endowments and bequests all support the work of the foundation in support of Historic Arkansas Museum.
Biggest Fundraiser
The Candlelight Gala, coming in fall of 2013, raises the funds to purchase Arkansas Made art, furniture, quilts and pottery, as well as important historic documents and photographs, for the museum’s permanent collection.
