What to Expect at This Week’s 2nd Friday Art Night

The weather’s heating up and so is this month’s 2FAN.

For the uninitiated, 2FAN, or 2nd Friday Art Night, is a monthly event that takes place in downtown Little Rock where various art galleries and shops stay open late and host special events.

Here’s a peek at all the fun happenings during this month’s stacked lineup:

Gallery & Art Studios 221: Meet with artists and browse new works from 5-8 p.m. (Free parking is available after 5 p.m. for 2FAN patrons in the reserved lot on Third and Center.)
Old State House Museum: Taste the annual Cheese Dip Social with an array of cheese dips, quesos and salsas from local restaurants. Plus, Charlotte Taylor will be playing her soulful blues throughout the evening.
The Galleries at Library Square: The “Mid-Southern Watercolorists 50th Annual Juried Exhibition” will feature 39 paintings selected by juror Lynn Ferris of West Virginia and announced at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The public is invited to attend a reception from 6-8 p.m.
Nexus Coffee & Creative: Check out an artist exhibit from May We Fly, as well as pop-ups from Petals & Clay and Skin Balm Apothecary.

At the Corner: At the Corner will celebrate its fifth birthday in style with a Birthday Night Brunch Bash and Bubbles from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Plus, co-owner and artist Helen King will have her works on display during the evening.
The New Gallery: Paintings by New Orleans artist Aaron Collier will be on display from 6-9 p.m. The artist specializes in abstract paintings created with flashe paint, a medium typically used for painting cars.
