Mardi Gras in Arkansas at Next Level Events, 1400 W. Markham St, Little Rock: In its fourth year, this event is hosted by The Connection and benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas. West Little Rock Food Truck Festival at Chenal Pointe at The Divide, 6400 The Divide Parkway, Little Rock: We just couldn’t wait for the thaw. The WLR apartment complex will host a slew of food trucks including Katmandu MoMo, Hot Rod Wieners, Waffle Wagon, Beast, The Pie Hole and more, as well as vendors and live music. POP UP BAR! Maxine’s TapRoom Live from Big Orange Midtown, 207 N. University Ave., Little Rock: The Big Orange crew is hosting bartenders Jacqueline Shin and JD Paul from the Fayetteville joint Maxine’s Tap Room. They’ve got a show full of sketch comedy and parodies, including an original piece about Sherwood, Arkansas’ number one private eye. Lights, Camera, Action! Academy Awards Gala at the Chenal Country Club, 10 Chenal Club Blvd., Little Rock: If you always thought you belonged more on the red carpet than the sofa, take your rightful place at the Wolfe Street Center’s annual Oscars watch party gala sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. A Beer & Brats Afternoon at The Capital Hotel, 111 Markham St., Little Rock: We’ve got a bit of a dream scenario on our hands here. You’ll be able to enjoy Lost Forty’s brews alongside Capital Bar & Grill’s all new housemade bratwurst plates while you listen to Arkansas native folk musician Bonnie Montgomery. The Arkansas Flower and Garden Show at the Statehouse Convention Center, 101 E. Markham St., Little Rock: Come one green thumb, come all to the state’s biggest gardening event. More than 75 exhibitors will flood the show’s marketplace with the tools, tricks and trinkets to inspire your warm weather outdoor escapades and numerous fully landscaped display gardens. “How to Kill: World War II Watercolors by Robert Andrew Parker” at the Arkansas Arts Center, 501 E. 9th St., Little Rock: Based on the series of poems by WWII soldier Keith Douglas, the work of Robert Andrew Parker is a more gentle take on the poems’ harsh themes, creating an odd and fascinating contrast.
