Weekend To-Do List: 8 Events to Check Out

This may be the last weekend to enjoy a few low-key activities before the holiday season officially kicks off next week. Here’s what made our must-do list: 

Thursday (Nov. 20)

Filson Trunk Show & 1906 Gents Shaving Education at Domestic Domestic, 5501 Kavanaugh Blvd., Suite C, Little Rock: Here’s an event for the gentlemen. The event’s Facebook page says it best, “Could one day be more manly? No.” Come shop outdoor clothing from Filson and learn how to create a handcrafted shave brush from 1906 Gents. The event is from 5-7 p.m., but cocktails start at 4 p.m. For more information, click here

Holiday Open House at Reinvented Vintage, 10301 N. Rodney Parham Road, Suite E4, Little Rock: Reinvented Vintage is the place to find a few Christmas gifts this weekend at its Holiday Open House. Shop around, take home some freebies and enjoy a few cocktails. The event is set for 5-8 p.m. For more information, click here.

Around the World: Montreal, Canada at Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock: Every third Thursday, Forty Two at the Clinton Presidential Center takes you on a tour of a particular country’s cuisine and culture. This month, it’s our friends to the north: Canada. Come enjoy a five-course meal while exploring the sights and sounds of Canada. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is $27.95 per person. Friday (Nov. 21)

Ladies Night at The Green Corner Store, 1423 Main St., Little Rock: Cocktails won’t be the only thing you enjoy at this ladies night event. You’ll also get makeup demonstrations from Angel Burt, a professional makeup artist, the chance to browse the vintage jewelry collection of Arkie Style, and tips for stress management from health coach Angeline Karigan-Winter. Mingle at Manees at E.O. Manees House, 216 W. 4th St., North Little Rock: Dancing, holiday décor, a photo booth, food, drinks and a silent auction are just a few of the things you’ll enjoy at this Junior League of North Little Rock event. Tickets are $35 and proceeds go toward the literacy initiative, Between the Lines. For more information, click here.

Saturday (Nov. 22)

2014 Museum School Sale at Clear Channel Metroplex, I-430 & Colonel Glenn, Little Rock: The Museum School Sale is back! More than 80 instructors and students will be out Saturday selling original artwork. In addition to shopping, you’ll have the chance to partake in artist demonstrations, food trucks and drawings for $50 off a class. The sale is free and goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. From 6-9 p.m. Friday, members of the Arkansas Arts Center will get a first look at the art on sale. Ladies Only Wine Novices Class at One Eleven at The Capital, 111 W. Markham St., Little Rock: One hour at One Eleven on Saturday and you’ll be an expert on Chardonnay from the U.S. and France. Lee Ingold, the Capital Hotel’s sommelier, is giving the ladies a beginner’s class in the wines. Those who come participate will taste 3 wines, paired with tapas from the kitchen. Chardonnay & Cabaret at The Weekend Theater, 1001 W. 7th St., Little Rock: Help out a local theater while enjoying a night of drinks and live entertainment. The Weekend Theater is hosting a fundraiser, $20 to attend, that gets you hors d’oeuvres, wine and entertainment for a night that includes Patti Airoldi from “Company,” Dustin Baylan from “Scrooge!
