Lafayette 148 Spring 2015 Trunk Show at Barbara/Jean, 7811 Cantrell Road, Little Rock: We swear spring is just around the corner, and now is the time to get your wardrobe ready for the shift in seasons. Violinist Vadim Gluzman Performs with ASO, Maumelle Performing Arts Center, 100 Victory Lane, Maumelle: The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra‘s Stella Boyle Smith Masterworks Series continues this weekend with Franz Schubert’s “Unfinished.” Audiences will enjoy the ASO sounds of “Prelude to Die Meistersinger” by Richard Wagner, Concerto for Violin in D Major, Op. 77 by Johannes Brahms and finally, Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 “Unfinished” by Franz Schubert. Joining the ASO will be Vadim Gluzman, a world-renowned Israeli violinist. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1. For more information, click here.
P. Allen Smith’s Garden by Design at Moss Mountain Farm, 23700 Ross Hollow Rd, Roland: Say buh-bye to winter this weekend at P. Allen Smith’s Moss Mountain Farm. The lifestyle guru is hosting a brand-new workshop, Garden by Design, which will help you learn all the tools, techniques and tricks for tending a garden. This two-day event will include meals from the Moss Mountain kitchens, and Smith will provide tours and more, followed by live music and cocktails. “James and the Giant Peach” at Ron Robinson Theater, 100 Rock St., Little Rock: Surely you remember reading this creative classic? Sixth grade or so? Transport yourself back to that time period and see the Disney movie on the big screen at Ron Robinson Theater in the River Market. The screening is at 2 p.m. and only costs $5. Sunday (March 1)
2015 Little Rock Marathon, downtown Little Rock: Whether you’re lacing up your sneaks or just serving as spectator to this feat of human strength and will, the Little Rock marathon is the place to be this Sunday. The pirate-themed race will kick off downtown at 6 a.m. for the early start and 8 a.m. for the main show, with plenty of local venues hosting watch parties. Find out more here.
