Weekend To-Do List: 7 Things To Check Out

Thursday (Jan. 15)

Back to the Future Part II” at B&B Little Rock Chenal 9 Imax Retro Night, 17825 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock: The Chenal 9 is showing the classic ‘80s trilogy over the next couple of weeks. Hold on to your self-tying Nikes as you watch Marty and Doc Brown get into some real 2015 trouble. The movie is showing at both 4 & 7 p.m. For more information, click here.

 

Art in the Park UALR Opening Reception at Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock: Come celebrate the newest exhibit in the Art at the Park lineup. The show includes work from students, faculty and alumni from UALR. The reception includes free drinks and snacks. It all starts at 6 p.m. For more information, click here.

 

Whiskey Meet and Neat at Big Orange Midtown, 207 N University Ave, Ste 100, Little Rock: Take your Thirsty Thursday to a whole new level and come hang out with Rob Dietrich, head distiller of Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey and Tincup American Whiskey. Friday (Jan. 16) 

“Frost Bite Me” at The Joint Theater, 301 Main St., North Little Rock: Stop by The Joint and get your dose of The Main Thing. They’ve got a show full of sketch comedy and parodies, including an original piece about Sherwood, Arkansas’ number one private eye. Plus, The Joint has plenty of food and drink to make the night even better. The show starts at 8 p.m. For more information, click here

Argenta Art Walk at various galleries in North Little Rock: Every third Friday, galleries all over Argenta open their doors to numerous visitors, displaying new and favorite exhibits. Some of the open galleries include Greg Thompson Fine Art, Art Connection, Argenta Gallery B Side and Mugs Cafe Gallery. Pro tip: End at Mugs and treat yourself to some delicious coffee. Friday & Saturday (Jan. 16 & 17)

Charles Schulz exhibits at The Clinton Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock: Snoopy the presidential treatment as the Center celebrates 65th anniversary of Charles Schulz’s famous pup and the rest of the crew with their newest exhibits, “Pigskin & Peanuts” and “Heartbreak in Peanuts.” Family-friendly events will take place on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. For more information, click here.

 

Friday-Sunday (Jan. 16-8)

Ballroom with a Twist at the Maumelle Performing Arts Center, 100 Victory Lane, Maumelle: Watch some of your favorite talent-based reality TV performers on stage. Dancing with the Stars professionals and So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol finalists (including DWTS champ Cheryl Burke) will make you glad you left your couch.
