In case you haven’t noticed the decreased rush hour traffic and the alarming amounf of kids roaming about carefree, it’s spring break. If you’re like us and opting for a staycation, don’t despair. There are plenty of wonderful things to do in Little Rock this weekend, many of them even family friendly.
Friday (March 27)
Philanthropy Friday at E.Leigh’s, Little Rock: It’s no secret that we’re fans of E.Leigh’s, but now the women’s boutique has given us another reason to heart them. As part of a brand new Philanthropy Friday program, this Friday all three E. Leigh’s locations will donate a portion of the stores’ proceeds to three nonprofits. The Little Rock location will benefit CARTI (Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute); the Conway location will benefit the United Way of Central Arkansas; and the Fayetteville location will support the Northwest Arkansas Rape Crisis Center. For more information and updates, follow E.Leigh’s on Facebook and Instagram.
Spring Break at Historic Arkansas Museum, Little Rock: To celebrate the fair weather and the break from school, downtown’s Historic Arkansas Museum is hosting pioneer-themed, family-friendly demonstrations all week long. Thursday’s lineup includes dyeing cloth in the Brownlee kitchen and smoking cheeses in the smokehouse. On Friday, guests can learn about pioneer cooking in the Brownlee kitchen and spinning yarn in the McVicar house. There will even be a hands-on activity for kids, during which they can learn to card wool. The demos start at 10 a.m. each day. Admission to the museum is $2.50 for adults; $1 for children under 18; and $1.50 for senior citizens. Find out more info here, or call the museum at 324-9351.
Saturday (March 28)
White Goat Brunch with the Goaties, Little Rock: This Saturday, White Goat in the Heights and in Conway will be hosting a Brunch with the Goaties event, during which guests can enjoy mimosas, food, free gifts and Annie Sloan chalk paint demos.
