If you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole that is HBO’s “True Detective” season three, then this is just the event for you. Watch the sixth episode with fellow “True Detective”-heads at the Arkansas Cinema Society’s free watch party on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Head to the Ron Robinson Theater to swap conspiracy theories and hear from the episode’s screenwriter, Graham Gordy. The Arkansas native served as a consulting producer and writer for the northwest Arkansas-based season three. After the screening, the night continues with an after-party at Cache.
If you need a refresher on the show’s plot, here’s the CliffsNotes version: Set in the Arkansas Ozarks, Detective Wayne Hays (Mahershala Ali) and his partner Roland West (Stephen Dorff) are assigned to the case of two missing children. The case haunts Hays across three separate timelines — beginning in 1980 when the children go missing, following up when the case re-opened in 1990 and finally 2015, where an aging Hays is struggling to remember his life and the case that helped define it.
Tickets are free but be sure to reserve your seat ahead of time. For more information, head to the Arkansas Cinema Society’s website.
