City Holding Vote on Restoring Robinson Center Through Tuesday

Back in September, renovation plans for the Robinson Center Music Hall were released with the work budgeted at $68.6 million — with $60 million of that being actual building costs. And if plans are on track, will be completed by 2016.

In order to complete this major restoration project, the Restore Robinson Campaign is having an election this week.

Here is what the ballot says:

An issue of bonds of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas in one or more series in the maximum aggregate principal amount of $73,500,000 for the purpose of financing all or a portion of the costs of renovations and additions to, and furnishings and equipment for, Robinson Auditorium. The bonds will be payable from and secured by a pledge of the collections of the existing 2% tax levied by the City upon the gross receipts from motels, hotels, restaurants, cafes, cafeterias and all other establishments engaged in the business of selling prepared food for consumption on the premises of such establishment. The proceeds of the bonds will also be used to provide a debt service reserve and pay costs of issuing the bonds.

Early voting for the bonds is happening from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. today (Dec. 9) at the Pulaski Regional Building, 501 W. Markham, Little Rock.

Tomorrow (Dec. 10) is the regular voting/election day. From 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., polls will be open at locations all over Little Rock. See the full list of polling places here.
