Due to high demand, the Clinton School of Public Service announced a venue change for Chelsea Clinton’s lecture series talk.
The event, part of the Distinguished Lecture Series scheduled for Sept. 18, will now be held in the Wally Allen Ballroom at the Statehouse Convention Center.
“We were excited that Chelsea Clinton was going to be our 1,000th speaker at the Clinton School and so is Arkansas. Within three days of announcing her lecture, she was in the top 20 all-time for reservations. We are pleased to move to a larger venue to accommodate as many people as possible at this Kumpuris Lecture,” said the director of public programs Nikolai DiPippa.
So far, DiPippa says over one-thousand reservations have been made.
Clinton is expected to discuss her book, “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going,” which combines facts, charts, photographs and stories to give readers a deeper understanding of the world around them and how anyone can make a difference.
A book signing is scheduled to follow the event which begins at 6 p.m.
Clinton currently serves as vice chair of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation where she helps lead the work of the Foundation across its various initiatives, with a particular focus on work related to health, girls and women, creating service opportunities, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
The first speaker of the lecture series, held 11 years ago in 2004, was former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole.
