With summer’s arrival and many pool days to be had, that book list you’ve been adding to all year can finally be tackled. And what better way to start than with a book sale?
The Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries (FOCAL) Used Book Sale will be open for all your literary needs from July 13-15. A $5 wristband may be purchased for the nighttime shopping event on Thursday, July 13, from 5-7 p.m. and 9 a.m. entrance on Friday and Saturday mornings. Regular sale hours for the rest of us are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on July 14 and 15.
A 25 percent discount is offered to teachers and librarians with an I.D. at the Main Library basement book sale. FOCAL members also have early entrance privileges, as well as 50 percent off used books and 20 percent off gifts at River Market Books & Gifts across the street, so if you’re interested in joining FOCAL, memberships and wristbands are available at the door.
Shop used and feel good while doing it. Funds from the book sale are donated to the Central Arkansas Library System and help provide programs to different locations including book club kits, Summer Reading Club materials and special Saturday programming for children at the Main Library.
