Chelsea Clinton was the honoree at Turning Pointe, Ballet Arkansas’ spring gala. Held at Supermarine of Little Rock, the gala raised funds to help ensure dance continues to enrich the cultural fiber of the community and state by helping Ballet Arkansas grow, plan for the future and maintain its artistic standards. The evening included remarks from Clinton, who received the “Above the Barre” award for her contributions to the performing arts, a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions and a dinner catered by Simply the Best. Entertainment was provided by the dancers of Ballet Arkansas. Mitchell Williams was the presenting sponsor. Founded in 1978, Ballet Arkansas is the state’s only professional dance company. Clinton, who serves on the board of the School of American Ballet in New York City, began her dance training in Arkansas. As a young girl, she performed with Ballet Arkansas and appeared in several of its productions.
