Susan Barr, M.D.
UROGYNECOLOGY
Dr. Susan Barr returned home to Arkansas in 2011 and became the state’s first fellowship-trained and board-certified urogynecologist. Her fellowship in urogynecology expanded her OB/GYN training with advanced urologic and colorectal surgical techniques, allowing her to undertake comprehensive treatment of prolapse and urinary incontinence, among other pelvic health issues such as overactive bladder, birth trauma injury and fecal incontinence. She is humbled to help educate women about the normalcy of these conditions and to offer a range of options from conservative to surgical management.
In 2013, Barr recruited her partner, Dr. Sallie Oliphant, and led the creation of a robust practice staffed by an all-female team. Having built one of the state’s premier women’s medical care groups, Barr is excited to open Arkansas Urogynecology and Women’s Health this fall, allowing her team to expand the breadth of services they offer to patients. She is proud to use her expertise in urogynecology to improve the quality of life for the women she serves.
In addition to clinical work, Barr is active in the American Urogynecologic Society and enjoys mentoring young professionals. She also loves to exercise and travel with her family. As a former NCAA cheerleader, you will likely hear her rooting for her son’s sports teams at area courts and fields.
