Dr. Franks and team have been serving patients in medical and surgical dermatology and skin cancer treatment for more than 25 years. His passion to educate, treat and provide compassionate care to patients helps them feel at ease no matter what brings them into the office.
Dr. Franks’ passion extends beyond patient care to teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. He played a pivotal role in developing the alumni/student pre-med shadowing program at Hendrix College, guiding aspiring physicians toward their dreams. Dr. Franks offers students interested in the medical field the opportunity to become part of his clinic’s gap year program and summer internship program. Both allow for meaningful clinical experience in all aspects of providing high-quality patient care, while monthly lectures and weekly grand rounds at UAMS deepen the educational value of both programs.
Born and raised in Magnolia, Arkansas, Dr. Franks has a deep connection to The Natural State and its communities. His commitment to giving back is evident in his roles as a board member at Hendrix College, chairman of the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation and a dedicated member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. His contributions to dermatology and medical education have been recognized by the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians with an honorary membership.
