Top Docs 2022: Monica Verma, M.D.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Growing up in central Arkansas, Dr. Monica Verma has always had a desire to care for Arkansans in a meaningful way. Her passion for children’s eye health developed early, as she had the privilege to train under one of the founders of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Dr. Gunter von Noorden.

In 2013, she returned home to Arkansas because she saw a lack of resources in the state for pediatric ophthalmic care. After working in a group setting, Dr. Verma decided to fulfill her dream of having her own practice. In 2021, she opened Children’s Eye Care and Surgery of Arkansas and Little Eyes Optical.

After a rewarding day at work, Dr. Verma can be found spending time with her husband, Dr. Sanjay Maraboyina and their two young children. She enjoys shopping and baking with her 7-year-old daughter and playing, reading books and eating pizza with her 1-year-old son.
