As we celebrate the return of The Robinson Center, we round up the top five shows not to miss in the coming months.
The Ten Tenors “Home for the Holidays”
Nov. 26
The Ten Tenors, one of Australia’s greatest entertainment success stories — having reached a worldwide audience of 90 million and counting — will take to the Arkansas stage in November to get you in the holiday spirit. The holiday concert will feature soaring renditions of holiday classics such as “White Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Feliz Navidad” and much more. This is one for the whole family to enjoy — and we won’t judge if you decide to sing along. (Tickets & Info: CelebrityAttractions.com)
The Nutcracker presented by Ballet Arkansas
Dec. 9-11
Ballet Arkansas brings the holiday classic to life once more back inside their spiritual home of the Robinson Center. Join Clara and the Nutcracker as they enter into the Land of Sweets, all the while listening to the familiar score by Tchaikovsky (who at the time of composing received enormous criticism for writing music for “low-brow” entertainment like ballet) played by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. A cast of over 200 youth and adult dancers from the central Arkansas area, professional guests and Ballet Arkansas company members will treat our eyes with grace and beauty. This is one holiday tradition you won’t want to miss. (Tickets & Info: BalletArkansas.org)
Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s “Imagine: The Music of John Lennon” concert
Mar. 4-5, 2017
Experience the music of this choir boy turned pop music sensation by revisiting John’s influence in the Beatles and exploring material from his adventurous solo career. Jean Meilleur will take on John’s persona with his band Jeans ‘n’ Classics supplying the instrumentals. Jean is a prolific songwriter who has been performing professionally for over 30 years, which makes us all the more excited to see his rendition of John Lennon’s classics.
