Top 5 Reasons to Get Excited for the Designer House Cinco de Mayo Bash

The ASO Designer House XXIII has been in full swing for a few weeks now, showing off each expertly designed nook and cranny of the stylish Chenal home it overtook before its last day on Mother’s Day, May 8.

But first, there’s a fiesta to be had.

The Designer House Young Professionals Fiesta kicks off on, you guessed it, Thursday, May 5. Before the big celebracion de cinco, we asked event chairs Jake and Michelle Eddington (and event mascot Esteban, pictured above) what they were most looking forward to on the big night.

Take it away, guys.

Uno: The Food and Drinks

You can’t have a good party without great food and drinks, and for this particular fiesta we are so lucky to have our wonderful sponsors Yellow Rocket Concepts and Pleasant Valley Liquor. Yellow Rocket, of course, is the business behind the highly successful restaurants that will be providing the food for this event! Guests can expect a taco bar from Local Lime, salad from Zaza Fine Salad + Wood-Oven Pizza Co. and tamales from their newest restaurant, Heights Taco and Tamale. Yellow Rocket is also providing beer from their very own Lost 40 Brewing. In addition to beer, we’re very excited to have tequila from Pleasant Valley Liquor that will be used to create some of the most delicious margaritas you’ll find on Cinco de Mayo.

Dos: The House

This is more than just a Cinco de Mayo Party – this is a chance to explore the ASO Designer House! Bill and Mary Morton have provided their beautiful home in one of Little Rock’s most prestigious neighborhoods to the ASO Guild so that Arkansas designers from far and wide can come showcase their amazing designs and creativity. This beautifully decorated 8,000-SF house will serve as an amazing backdrop to our Cinco de Mayo festivities.

Tres: Moose

We are so excited to have Alice 107.7 as a presenting sponsor of our fiesta, and included in that sponsorship, we are lucky enough to have our good friend Moose to DJ the event. Many of you have probably heard Moose on the Heather and Poolboy show in the morning, but you might not have realized that he is also one of Little Rock’s most talented DJs. We feel like the music makes the party, and you won’t find any better entertainment on Cinco de Mayo.

Quatro: The Cause

Of course, we can’t forget the purpose of Designer House XXIII – to raise money to support the Music Education Programs of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Through the support of fundraising events like this, the over 300 members of the ASOG work tirelessly year round to support the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Thanks to the Guild, over 1,500 students have been introduced to the orchestra through the award-winning program Orchestra & You.

Cinco: The People

We expect this event to be a huge opportunity to network and make new acquaintances in a fun and exciting atmosphere. We have especially geared this event towards young professionals with the hope that it will give this group a great chance to connect with each other. At $40 per ticket, we have also tried very hard to keep this party affordable for anyone who might want to attend. The truth is, we can’t have a great party without great people. We sincerely hope to see you there on Thursday!
