Top 100 Women of Impact: Toni Lindsey

Toni Lindsey

Director of Governmental Affairs & Leadership Arkansas Program Director, Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas

About me: I serve as the director of governmental affairs and Leadership Arkansas program director for the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. I am the president for the NWA Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and helped found the Miracles & Magic Radiothon in 2015. I serve as president of the Chi Omega (Psi Chapter) Advisory Board. My love of mentorship and empowering women extends to my years of service with the Miss Arkansas organization, and I also serve on the PBS Foundation Board. Originally from Jacksonville, Arkansas, my husband Michael and I reside in Bentonville with our “why”: 4-year-old, open-heart surgery rockstar Thomas Gray and his best four-legged friend Bernie. I am also the proud bonus mom to Bailey and Amelia.

Lives in: Bentonville • Works: Statewide

Best Career Advice: Never ask someone to do something you wouldn’t be willing to do yourself. I believe the best way to earn respect is to give it, to be kind and caring to those you work and volunteer with. When you help others, they are usually willing to do the same for you.

Proudest Moment of Impact: Every time one of my Leadership Arkansas graduates gets a promotion, a new job, an honor or recognition, my heart swells with pride. Throughout our year together, each class grows close like family. Watching their successes and the impact they make on our state, and knowing I get to be a miniscule part, makes me so proud and shows me my efforts are making an impact across our state as well.

Call to Action: Vote. Vote in every single election. It is so vital that everyone makes their voices heard. Not even half the registered voters in Arkansas actively participate in our election process, and that is disappointing. “Democracies perform better when more people vote,” and I would love to see Arkansas as one of the top states in voter turnout.

What Keeps Me Motivated: I want the world to be a better, safer, stronger place for my son to grow up in. I also love helping people become the best versions of themselves and watching them succeed.
