Best Career Advice: Surround yourself with good people, both personally and professionally. Those who will challenge you, those who will say “no” to you and those with whom you share mutual respect.
Lesson Learned the Hard Way: Arkansas is a small state, and Mountain Home is a small town. Everything always comes back around. Be kind to those with whom you disagree and always do the right thing even when it is hard. At the end of the day, we all want what is best for our community.
Proudest Moment of Impact: I feel I have been a part of many positive community efforts, but the impact we can make working together is still ahead of us. I strive to make our community better for our kids, and I believe our proudest moment is yet to come.
Call to Action: For a state and community that sees the poverty levels we do, the greatest way out of poverty is through education. Whatever we can do to love and support our kids and their education and our schools will always be my top priority.
What Keeps Me Motivated: I know the opportunities I experienced growing up in Mountain Home. The impact made by our schools, our churches, our beautiful lakes and rivers and the people who gave of themselves is immeasurable. It is my sincere hope every generation experiences that same quality of life. We must work to make that happen, and on behalf of our community, I promise I won’t quit.
