Top 100 Women of Impact: Heather Jones

Heather Jones

President, Bank of America Arkansas
Senior Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager, Middle Market Commercial Banking Group

About Me: In my roles at Bank of America Arkansas, I lead a team of Arkansas commercial banking specialists in delivering strategic financial advice and solutions to companies with $50 million to $2 billion in annual revenue.

I am an active member of the Arkansas Leadership Team and BoA Leadership, Education, Advocacy & Development (LEAD) for Women. I am the vice chair of Economics Arkansas, on the board of the Little Rock Regional Chamber, Arkansas Bankers Association and a member of Rotary Club 99. I volunteer for several local organizations, including Junior Achievement, Arkansas Foodbank and Our House.

Lives/Works in: Little Rock

Lesson Learned the Hard Way: Realizing that I can’t be a people-pleaser and can’t be everything to everyone. Learning that saying “no” is sometimes more responsible than saying “yes” because you can’t do a quality job if you’re spread too thin and over-committed. Balance comes down to prioritizing.

Proudest Moment of Impact: I am really proud of how our company delivered for our community during times of need. Throughout COVID-19, BoA provided nearly $1 million to nonprofits and helped them acquire much-needed PPE and hand sanitizer. We were able to quickly mobilize again this spring when the tornado came through Little Rock by distributing food for the Arkansas Foodbank and financially supporting the Red Cross.

What Keeps Me Motivated: Seeing continual progress keeps me motivated. Sometimes people get caught up in outcomes being measured as success, but sustained and incremental progress is success and inspires continual momentum. Real change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, so little wins along the way motivate me to keep doing the work.
