As we inch closer to the holiday season, our thoughts are on ways we can give back, especially in a year like 2020. One way to do that is with our annual Giving Guide, but when you’ve run out of ideas, that’s when EngageAR steps in to point you in the right direction.
A product of the Arkansas Service Commission, EngageAR’s mission is to “foster a culture of service to strengthen communities and solve local problems.”
One of the ways this organization helps you plug in to your community is through its web portal, an online database that connects nonprofits and volunteers who share similar missions and passions.
Citizens can search for volunteer opportunities by zip code, interest area, date or relevant skills, as well as find information on everything from AmeriCorps and youth opportunities to disaster relief and volunteer recognition programs.
The EngageAR website also highlights a handful of nonprofits who are in need of more volunteers for upcoming events, so keep an eye on their homepage for updates.
